The Billion DollarDrain:

MEV, Censorship, and the Illusion of Fair Trading

Crypto traders have lost over $1.38 billion to malicious MEV on Ethereum since 2020. But that’s just part of the story. Other forms of transaction manipulation also occur, regularly blocking or delaying trades.
These hidden forces act like an invisible tax, quietly costing traders their time, plus hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

Shielded Transactions
Set up Shielded Trading on Gnosis Chain to enjoy protection against malicious MEV and censorship. Simply add a custom RPC to your wallet.

Important: Current Limitations and Risks for Mainnet Implementation. While it’s a full mainnet implementation, there are currently a limited number of participating validators and Keypers, which may lead to longer transaction inclusion times. Additionally, there’s still a trust assumption with the RPC, and validators are not yet subject to slashing. In rare cases, some transactions may fail to be included in a block due to validator issues or re-orgs, and while these will be re-sent by the inclusion service, they could become vulnerable to front-running since their keys may already be released.

Shielded Trading is currently only live on Gnosis Chain, but it will soon be available on other chains.

How Shielded Trading Protects You Using Threshold Encryption

Transaction Encryption
Your transaction is encrypted with a DKG-generated key via a decentralized group of Keypers before it enters the public mempool, which is a waiting area for transactions.
Preventing Manipulation
Attackers can’t see your encrypted transaction, making it nearly impossible for them to front-run or disrupt your trades.
Decentralized Decryption
Once the block producer or sequencer confirms inclusion and ordering for your transaction, the decentralized group of Keypers generate the decryption key for your transaction, which is then decrypted and processed as normal.

A Distributed Solution to a Centralized Problem

Shielded Trading employs decentralized threshold encryption — a form of MPC (Multi-Party Computation). Multiple parties known as Keypers are required to decrypt transactions, making collusion more difficult. It's the ideal solution for both protecting users and preventing the centralized concentration of power.
